Internal Parasite Resistance Fact or Fiction?

Internal parasites (specifically nematodes) continue to cost the cattle industry millions of dollars per year both in both clinical and subclinical disease. This presentation is designed to give a brief overview of the life cycle of nematodes including some of the basic epidemiologically principles associated with parasites and their potential economic impact. Additionally information will be provided describing some of the concerns that have been reported throughout the world concerning resistance of Cooperia sp to avermectin products and considerations needed for designing a parasite control program.
